We are delighted to announce that TK Gymfit CIC has been awarded a Better Youth Spaces grant, bringing fantastic news for young people across Bradford.
This funding will enable significant improvements to our facilities, including:
- A new floor area
- Upgraded kitchen equipment
- A dedicated SEN room
- Enhanced classroom and learning support spaces
These improvements will allow us to expand our exercise classes, support nutritional education and healthy meals, and create safe, inclusive spaces for young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The refurbishment and new equipment will also help us increase our capacity, ensuring more young people can access meaningful activities, stay active, and develop new skills in a supportive environment.
The Better Youth Spaces fund is a £30.5 million Government initiative designed to support youth work in key areas across England. It is administered by Social Investment Business (SIB).
Nick Temple, CEO of Social Investment Business, said:
“We are excited to be partnering with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to support youth services in priority areas in England and create better youth spaces for young people. By funding refurbishment projects and providing new equipment, the programme will open up opportunities for young people to take part in a wide range of enrichment activities – from sport to music and cultural activities. The fund will help expand access, create safer spaces and make youth services more sustainable, delivering lasting impact for young people’s wellbeing.”
Welcoming the grant, Kirsty Thornton from TK Gymfit CIC said:
“We are incredibly proud that this investment will allow us to reach even more young people in Bradford. It will help us create a welcoming, high-quality space where young people can be active, try new things, and spend time in a positive environment with people who genuinely care.”
